Ohio Department of Education⇒  The Lima school board is made up of five members, who are elected by the public to four-year terms. The board meets at least once a month, and often twice a month. The public is welcome at meetings. The board believes that community participation in the district is vital in meeting our mission and in maintaining mutual confidence, respect and excellent working relationships. Together we can improve the quality of education for our students. Your help and comments are always appreciated. Who We Are · School Board⇒ · Staff Search · Department Contacts · Financials⇒ · Human ... And we want to be the school district that helps each find success. Ohio Department of Education⇒ Welcome to the Lima City Schools. Let me first thank you for choosing us. I know there are many educational options available to families. We want the chance to educate every child because we know every child has potential. And we want to be the school district that helps each find success. For those of you who aren’t familiar with our district, let me share just a few of the many highlights. The highlights start with our amazing staff and diverse families, all striving and working together to make sure our students’ needs are met and that they are prepared for the future. We are home to the Spartans and the Spartan spirit is as strong as ever. Our return to one high school has sparked a new camaraderie among our students and a renewed Spartan pride and allegiance to Lima City Schools throughout our community. I was fortunate and humbled to be named superintendent of this great district in 2012. I am proud that I chose to stay and serve in the Lima City Schools. The students, staff, parents and community are like no other. I believe in Lima and I believe in the Lima City Schools! I am also a proud parent of a child in the Lima City Schools. My son is a seventhth-grader in this district. My husband and I wanted only the best for our son, and that is without a doubt the Lima City Schools. We are proud parents of this district and proud residents of the city of Lima. If you have questions about our district, please feel free to contact me at 419-996-3422 or jackerman@spartan.limacityschools.org.

Spartan News From the Lima City Schools Statement from Allen County schools on re-opening Posted on 13 July, 2020 by BJokinen ALLEN COUNTY SCHOOLS COMMON REOPENING AGREEMENT Preface: All Ohio schools closed for the remainder of the school year in mid-March, by order of the Governor and Director of the Ohio Department of Health in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This document is based on the most recent guidance available from the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Health regarding guidelines for schools to reopen for the 2020-2021 school year. School district superintendents from each public school district in Allen County, along with the Allen County Educational Service Center, the Apollo Career Center, the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Allen County Public Health came together to draft common practices for school reopening in Allen County. These general principles will guide each school district as they move forward with reopening schools throughout Allen County: Each school district will implement recommended safety protocols to the highest degree possible. Each school district will work closely with Allen County Public Health to promote safety in each school building. Each school district will be transparent with all stakeholders that some level of risk will always be present when students and school district employees occupy school district facilities. School districts recognize the need for consistency in areas of operations while recognizing that individual differences in classroom sizes, school facilities, and building operations may lead to some inconsistencies.
